Dr. Mark Baynes brings over 25 years of full-time ministry experience as a pastor, worship leader & Bible teacher in America, Scotland & Africa.  As an avid lifelong learner, he holds a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School & a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Worship from Erskine Seminary, where he was privileged to study under the direction of Dr. Hughes Oliphant Old.

He is a lover of all things Scottish, including his wife, Dawn, who hails from Aberdeen.  He has previously served in Scotland as an associate pastor, in America as a college pastor and presently serves as the worship pastor at his local church in North Carolina.

Passionate about global missions, he annually teaches a 'Theology of Worship' course at Ambassador International University in central Zambia.  He is also author of the book Worship Under The Influence: Rediscovering the Joy of Acceptable Worship.

As an experienced preacher, Mark is able to open up the Bible clearly, intelligently & passionately.  With his passion for music, he combines guitar & hammer dulcimer; creating a fusion of acoustic folk pop embroidered with rich traditional Celtic and Americana influences.  Uniquely blending together ancient hymns, modern worship songs & singer/songwriter originals — all firmly rooted in Scripture — he aims for Christ to be formed in His people & the church unified in a time of corporate and acceptable worship.
